Walking Through The Narrow Route
This Sunday's ( 20th July) Mass Reading was all about entering through the Narrow Route. Priest asked the children if they liked Ice Cream. He also mentioned that Yesudas, One of the finest singers of the country never had taken ice cream in his life. He had sacrificed the taste of ice cream for the good of his voice. He has taken his narrow route, of sacrificing his taste. There are different narrow routes that we see across in our daily life. We see the tough path taken by the Widow who sacrificed 2 Coins that she only had. We see the path of his disciples who sacrificed their work and followed Jesus. Day in and Day out we need to walk through the narrow path to attain the Salvation.
Now what is the Narrow Path of Children. It is now , their Studies. When they have great wish to Play, watch Movies, Hang out with Friends and when they are ready to sacrifice all these for their studies, they are taking the narrow route. It is difficult but if they are able to do that without the compulsion of their parents, that would be very beautiful.
What is the narrow path for us elders. It is our daily struggles in our day to day life, it is our self less working in our Offices and Home without looking out for rewards. We always want appreciations in life, Rewards in life for us to be always motivated. But Jesus tells that leave the path of Rewards, Recognitions. Work Selflessly with all your Heart and Mind. When sufferings and Pains come in life, never get disheartened. Be Bold , Move ahead with Christ. In families, when there are problems, Health Issues, Financial Struggles remember God is wanting you to walk through the narrow path. There is nothing happening in your life without his knowledge. So be Bold, Be Strong and Be the Strong Warriors of Jesus.
