5 Bread Loaf & 2 Fishes...

Image
I was very familiar with the Bible Story of Jesus feeding the 11,000 People with Just 2 Loaf of Bread & 2 Fishes. I have been hearing this story, listening it from elders from the time I started learning catechism. But, till today It was nothing more than a MIRACLE that Jesus had performed. I never understood the meaning that it had in my Life. I was having my Morning Prayer as usual & during the Prayers I got this chapter for reading. I read it once, twice & thrice ...I couldn't understand much more than what I knew earlier. I just closed my eyes, prayed to Holy Spirit & amazingly I started feeling the Blessings of Holy Spirit revealing me the inner meaning of this Parable in a very beautiful way. Even though, I had got a lot of insights about this parable, I thought of sharing a few points that I to would like to Cherish. 1. Jesus felt pity on the Innocent People who were tired at the end of his speech. This shows the Kindness that Jesus has for the people who are ...

Days @ SCMLD, Pune

This incident is one of the best incidents that had happened to the 2005-07 batch. This also shows MSPs out of the box punishments and killer blows unexpected by us :) It was a sunny afternoon. With some of the guys playing around with their laptops at the back bench and few in the front snoring away to glory. The session was Corporate governance by Prof Jayant Oke. Prof Jayant Oke being one of the eminent professors also a cool & calm guy was going high with the case of Enron and was explaining that the future mangers and leaders should be ethical and should be truthful at all times. Suddenly, a phone rang with some funny ringtone, Prof Jayant Oke requested that whomsoevers phone rang kindly raise the hand and accept the mistake. The class was in silence. No one raised the hand. Some one from the 3rd row said Sir Bahar se awaaz aaya hoga. Prof Oke was not convinced and said in next 5 mins if the guy/girl whose mobile has rung doesnt stand up i will leave the class & never ...

Do companies need Quality Department ?

Image
When we hear the word “Business Process”, the associated department that comes into picture is nothing other than Quality. But there is always a Question that lies unanswered. When business processes are for the Business, what is that Quality supposes to do with Business Processes? Is Quality Owning these processes? What is the Value addition that Quality is giving to these processes? When most of the Quality Guys are from General Business Background, who does not have in depth knowledge of any of the Businesses, what is the support that Quality can give to the Business Processes? These are some of the interesting Questions that we are trying to look into. Quality in every organization has only one objective - It is to ensure customer satisfaction. There are different approaches that companies adopt to achieve this objective. Some call it by the name Business Excellence, Some by the name Process Improvement, and for somebody else it is Business Process Management. Ultimately, it is al...

Why do Process Improvements Fail ?

Most Organizations are no strangers to change. There is constant pressure to achieve more in less time and usually with less resource. Shareholders demand a better return on their investment; down-stream consumer companies demand reductions in the prices they are asked to pay for supplies. With this type of pressure, change has been almost constant in many organisations since the mid-sixties. Thinking back, over recent years we have seen such quality improvement schemes as total quality initiative, (TQI), total quality management, (TQM), business process reengineering, (BPR), restructuring, lean, kaizen and now six-sigma. Some of these initiatives have had varying levels of success, others have been dismal failures, and the experience will have varied from company to company, and maybe even between different divisions of the same company. What this comes down to is that change is all around us, and often the only constancy is change itself. Who in industry has gone more than two years ...

3 Years Of Life Saving !!!

Image
It has been alomost 3 Years since I joined at GVK EMRI.The second job after my MBA from SCMLD. When I look back at these 3 Years, I find that my stay with GVK EMRI was very fruitful in these days. I joined this Organization as a Management Trainee, struggled through the Organizational Learnings, Learned from every person @ every moment. YES, I was learning in my initial 1 Year @ GVK EMRI. That days, I cursed myself for taking the decesion of joining this Organization. But , as the saying goes..Tough Times never last long, but Tough People DO....Yes, Now I understand that those tough days, where only to make me much stronger.... I was also a Carrier oriented Person, waiting to rise in the Organizational Ladder. But, intitial ...
