Beyond the Walls..
The recent weekend was packed with lots of fun and activities. Saturday started off with a 10.AM movie at Cinepolis. It had been a long time since we had been to a Hindi movie , so after seeing and hearing the reviews , thought of giving a shot for the Aamir Khan special ' Dangal' . To the core, the movie was worth every penny spend from my pocket to watch it. I really find the kids enjoying every bit and part of the movie in great enthusiasm.
Lots of insights into life. The movie had opened up a whole lot of points to ponder at. The final part of the movie was something which I always wanted to recollect. Even if the coach , the father of Geetha, couldn't be with her in the final moments of her victory, it didn't stop her from getting that success. I think this is a point worth remembering in parenting.
Many a times we feel that we need to spoon feed the kids till the end for them to be successful. But I think ' Train and Leave ' is what all parents should adopt to. Give the best coaching, give the best life lessons, train them to stand all the situations that they may come across in life, train them to come out of failures and that's it... Leave them alone once the training is complete and let them live the life in a way they desire. Rest assured , if your training of life skills has been good enough, they stand tall.
I see parents everywhere , in entrance coaching classes, exam centres, youth festivals, and even in marriages. But what for. Give the kids a breathing space. Let them go out and live their life on own. Parents need to train the kids for a wonderful marriage and their responsibility to end there. They should never come up and be a part of their sons/ daughters married life with their comments and queries. Your trainjng should end up with the time you leave them out of your house for them to go and win. Be assured, if you have been a instrument in their success, they will never forget you. They will come insearch of you to share the Joy and Happiness of their life.
Train and Leave. Let that be the Parenting Mantra
